On the This Is England poster, the main charcters are all stood up against the wall and they all look really rough and they look very unfashionable and ripped. they all look tattered and messy and they look like they do not give a damn of what they do and how they look and how they act. they look like they are wearing really old fashioned clothes and to confirm this, it states that the film was set in 1983. the tag line says 'a time to stand out from the crowd'  and this implies that these people are going to do something outrageous that is going to be unaccepted.
there body language shows us that they are standing close together which suggests that they are strong together and they are like a gang. they all look as if they are about to do something andthat relates back to the tag line. their facial expressions are3 very rude and they look like they got attitude and they look intimidating and rough and you wouldn't like to approach them. bceause of the way they look. the colours on the poster arent very bright and they look extremely dull which suggests that this film  is serious and isnt very happy. in the very background it looks like a block of flats and an estate and this is probably the place they live in.

Representation

Black people are stereotyped by many people and some of these stereotypes are that black people are all criminals and they all eat chicken and they are strong and run fast. this doesnt apply to all black people it is just a stereotype created by the media.

Gay people are stereotyped in the media as being very feminine and acting like a girl and putting makeup on and this may be true to some gay people but not all and that os what the stereotype of gay people.

Blonde women are stereotyped as being incredibly dumb and stupid and not being very clever. but that, again, does not apply to all blondes and it is just a stereotype.

What makes a good film trailer

a good film trailer includes the best bits of the film jumbled up in a random order which makes sense, this is the main part of a trailer, there are other important bits as well that make a film trailer a good one. for example a good film trailer include a voiceover which is a man or woman but it is usually a man who says small snappy sentences about the film. another feature of a good film trailer is that it includes good music that ties in with the genre of the film. a good example of a good film trailer is the trailer of the film goldeneye.

What makes a good film website

  • a good film website has clear and accurate information that is easy to read and is consistent meaning that the font is the same and the colors are relevant to the theme of the movie.
  • it must include information about what the film is roughly about.
  • it must also include features that any normal decent website should include such as a navigation bar which is a guide around the actual website, a logo, pictures, search bar, links.
  • a good website has clips of the actual movie so the audience are drawn in and it can give clues about the film and to have a clip in your website is good because nobody wants to read a massive page full of writing, they would much rather watch a clip which is shorter, less effort and more entertaining.
  • a good website could include links for Facebook or twitter or any social networking sites so that it can interact with peoples personal lives.
  • the website could also include links so that you could buy the film on dvd or blu-ray and they can also include links so that you can purchase cinema tickets to watch the film.

My film poster analysis

My Movie Poster Analysis

Tuesday, 10 January 2012

My film idea-

my film is a horror movie and it is about a person who is killed by a drunk driver and he just drives away when she dies and doesnt care about what he has done because he is drunk and selfish. he is an alcoholic and does drugs and steals and is a very nasty person. the person he runs over is a little girl aged 5 named sarah and the mans name benjammin and he is a 45 year old man who has 3 kids that left him and so did his wife and he gets drunk everyday, he is a massive loser who gets the awakening of his life.

beginning: it starts of with the actual crash where benjamin is speeding through with a bottle in his hand not looking where he was going and then little sarah is in her bedroom on a windy day. she has the window open a bit and she is looking out that same window when a strong wind gushes the teddy out into the middle of the road. due to the young age she was, she ran out on to the road and in excitement grabbed onto the little teddy and held it tight and said "there you are!" not realising she was still on the road and roads are very dangerous, she kept holding on to the teddy when out of nowhere she is in shock and surprised at when beaming headlights and a roaring engine approaches her at 100mph and whisks her off her feet sending her flying in the air. the driver stops, it was benjamin, he gets out the car looks at the poor girl helpless on the floor and spits on her and drives on.

2nd beginning: the subtitle saying, a few days earlier. sarah is in the play ground playing with her friends and is enjoying hersel this part is a basic overview of the main character's lives and what happened before the crash the movie goes on introducing the characters and showing what happened until we have caught up to the part where the actual crash happens and the crash is shown. after benjamin spits on the little girl and leaves, the camera is still on her face, suddenly a ghostly pale ace pops out of her quickly and bombards the camera in ash and smoke and then the screen goes blank.

middle: the next morning, sarahs mother wakes up and gets the rubbish to throw outside, and as soon as she goes out, she is shocked with horror because she find sarah's body laying there helplessly and her face just goes blank. she runs her too her and just holds her tight.
she called the ambulance and the police and her family and she kept screaming out!
the funeral took place it was all dark and gloomy everyone was in pin drop silence as they buried the helpless soul.
a few weeks later, benjamin was up to his old ways, drinking, drugs, over-gambling, cheating, stealing and he didnt give a damn about the little girl he had run over and spit on. he started to experience some paranormal activity, and then one friday 13th he sees her in his sleep as a scary demon and she is getting his face taken apart from his head and eaten
the next day when he tries to go out, he is locked in his house and the little girl as a ghost, appears and frightens the man greatly, he is helpless and scared. she threatens him by telling him that if he does not run himself over, she will haunt him and watch him every second of every minute of every hour of every day for the rest of his hopeless life.

the next day, the man woke up in a shocking suspense and thought he just had a vivid dream, so he carried on with his life as per usual but he is terribly shaky and paranoid. he acts as if though someone or something is watching him

Film Marketing Research

  •  Film marketing is basically a verb to describe how companies promote their films and they do this in numerous different ways. some of these ways are, advertising on a huge billboard that people and cars can see when they are travelling another similar way is on public transportation like on buses so that everyone on roads and streets can see it.

Transformers - 3 - movie poster - Maxi Poster size app. 61x91.5 cmAnuvahood Poster Movie 11 x 17 Inches - 28cm x 44cm Adam Deacon Femi Oyeniran Ollie Barbieri Jazzie Zonzolo Michael Vu Richie Campbell Jaime Winstone
  • A film poster is a big piece of paper advertising a film and it is stuck around places where people can see it. it includes, the name of the film, the cover that would usually appear on the front of the disc case. it includes the name of the actors and/or actresses in it and maybe their faces an example of a filmposter would be the following...

  • a film trailer is a type of advertisement and it is something you would normally see on tv and it is basically a collection of small snipets and clips from the new movie a company is advertising and it normally has a voiceover during the trailer saying stuff about the film. it includes information about when the film is out, what it is basically about and the actors and/or actresses in the film. A recent film trailer i have seen was the new spiderman

History of advertising

  1. The first advert to be shown in the UK was an advert for S.R. Toothpaste on September 22, 1955 on the ITV network

2.The current record price for an advert shown on british television is £250,000 for a 30 second slot during the hit tv show of britains got talent.

3. British TV advertising is cheaper because as the United Kingdom has a much lower population (63 million) compared to the US (310 million). So if you adjusted the £250,000 figure into American terms, the population being 5 times bigger and the exchange rate, this figure would become $2million, much closer to the US Superbowl figure.

4. Digital TV recorders and sky+ and TiVo have an effect on the world of advertising because it allows users to skip these adverts meaning that they dont see it and that causes people to be less aware of a certain product which causes sales of that particular product to go down.

5. product placement is a form of advertising in which branded products and services are noticeable within a drama production with large audiences for example, chevrolet pay the massive hit movie transformers to have Chevrolet's cars to be shown in the movie and to be used in the actual movie.

6. On the 1st August 1965 advertising tobacco based products became illegal.

7. The most expensive advert ever was the advert from Guiness beer and it cost £10m

8. The cheapest advert ever was an advert by doritos and it only cost £6.50 to make.

9. Some of my favourite adverts that i personally like is the skoda yeti advert where they make a whole skoda out of cake. another one of my favourite adverts is the most expensive one by guiness where they make a massive domino effect using all sorts of diffeent things such a paint cans, cars, oil barrels etc.

A stereotypical view on teenagers

A lot of people in the world judge on every single teenager on the base of a single group of people whose actions are unacceptable and these actions which are seen by adults judge teenagers upon this group of people and these actions. These people are known as stereotypes; they assume that every teenager they see is a thug who carries knives and wears a hoodie and does drugs but these people are wrong.

Section 1- Television

in programmes such as Eastenders teenagers are portrayed in a bad way. in one of the story lines, one of the characters named Billie Jackson was part of a gang and did drugs and drank underage, this made the general public think that all kids do this and in the end he drank himself to death.

-Billie jackson
it also may occur in other programmes that i had not come across my mind but they portray teenagers as being thugs and really we are not because the teenagers that have demolished our reputation to the outside community are just a very small minority, most of us are quite decent and do not cause chaos. also in the television programme Waterloo Road it shows that teenagers dress inappropriately and do not follow rules and joyride and cause chaos and trouble which lowers the standards and expectations of teenagers and the general public. like the character Finn Sharkey who is a rebel at the start of his job on waterloo road, he joyrides, drinks and is an all round terror and this proves to the general public an untrue truth that all teens cause chaos.

Section 2- Film

In films especially, teenagers are, yet again, spoiled in the eyes of the general public. for example, a movie called adulthood and kidulthood  who trash the reputation of the teenagers of today by showing the actions of those who are rude, roudy, cause chaos and dont give a care in the world. there is this one character in kidulthood and adulthood named sam, he is the worst because he is portrayed as the worst, he drinks takes drugs, swears, is roudy, causes chaos, at he end of the film, he ends up killing someone with a baseball bat and goes to jail for 6 years.
this shows the very small minority of the people who actually act like this and do take drugs. for example, it shows a group of teenagers causing trouble in school and starting fights when really nothing like that ever happens in my school or in any other school that i no of.

- sam (Noel Clarke)

Section 3- News

In recent news of the riots put a massive stain on the reputation of the teenagers of today as it showed that all teenagers cause trouble and act very inappropriately. as seen on television, the majority of the people who did take part in the riots were teens and that shows the people of the general public to stay away from us teens and to be aware because we can cause a lot of trouble apparently. Like on the buses i've had dirty looks from the people on the buses and the bus drivers give us dirty looks and act rude against us which is hurtful because we are not he ones who caused this but what they have seen on the news tells them it is all of us.
-London Riots

Section 4- Conclusion

what i have found out is that us teenagers are portrayed in a terrible way to the public and that is why we have to act strong and behave like good citizens. in tv shows and the media we are shown as terrible thugs who smoke, do drugs, fight and cause chaos but that is not us. in shows it shows that teenagers do terrible things like this and that is why the public think we innocent teens do this when really we dont.
